Presented by the West Shrewsbury Hospice Support Group on the theme of "The Last Night of the Proms", this was the Orchestra's twenty first annual fund raising concert for The Severn Hospice. The concert raised well over £2,000 for the Hospice and the programme included the following music :

Friday, 14th December 2007, Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury
This was a concert of Christmas and other light music, with some carols, to raise funds for The Shrewbury Breathing Club. Soloists Leonie Minty and Sara Bromley (flutes), accompanied by Dr. Birtenshaw and Anoushka Lowrie-Herz (vocalist), also performed some pieces as part of the concert. £779 was raised for the Breathing Club funds.
The Breathing Club was started in 1981 to provide help for people with chronic disabling respiratory disease, and their carers. It offers social support, education and companionship on a regular basis and it has been seen that the club improves the quality of life of its members both psychologically and physically. The club is self-funded and relies on the generosity of its members and the general public, without which it could not continue to give vital help and support to members.
