Saturday 17^th December 2011. Oswestry Golf Club, Oswestry

This was the Golf Club's celebration of Christmas and included a selection of music played by the Orchestra. The Programme of music was as follows: -

Friday 16^th December 2011, Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury

Presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group, "Light Music at Christmas" was the ninth occasion that the Orchestra played for this Charity. It was a concert of Christmas and other light music and some carols with audience participation and there were also contributions from young players/singers, Bethan Robinson - violin and Jess Abrams - soprano. The concert raised £700 for the Breating Club. The Programme of music was as follows: -

Saturday 24^th September, 2011, Church of the Holy Spirit, Harlescott, Shrewsbury

This was a "Last Night of the Proms" themed concert that included a wide variety of Light Music, some songs from Jessica Johnson(soprano) and concluded with the "Last Night" favourites. The concert raised funds for the Church. The Programme of music was as follows :-

Saturday, 2^nd July, 2011, The West Midland Show Ground, Shrewsbury

This "Proms in the Park" concert was part of The UK Motorhome and Caravan Summer Fair, held on an outdoor Summer Stage on a very pleasant Summer evening. Although the concert was part of the Summer Fair, it was also open to the general public and they were present in force to join in the community singing and clapping which is always a feature of a "Last Night" concert. The orchestra was joined by Jessica Johnson, soprano, for some songs and leading the community singing. The programme of music was as follows and the last item was accompanied by a Firework Display: -

Saturday, 18^th June, 2011, Mytton Cottage, Mytton, Nr. Shrewsbury

The "Proms in the Garden" concert was played at the Garden Party organised by Tom and Julie Kaye on a pleasantly sunny and warm June evening. Donations were invited from quests to raise funds for The Severn Hospice and Fitz Village Hall and the programme of music was as follows: -

Saturday, 19^th March, 2011, The Leisure Centre, Whitchurch

This concert was organised in order to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. by the Whitchurch Branch of the Charity The Orchestra was joined by two choirs, The Fauls Singers and The Kelsborrow Choir.

Saturday, 5^th March, 2011, Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury

Presented by The West Shrewsbury Hospice Support Group this was the
TWENTY FIFTH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
that the Orchestra has played to raise funds for The Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury. As always for this concert it was a "Last Night of the Proms" theme and the Orchestra was joined by singers Susan Gough (Soprano) and Andrew Murray (Baritone). The concert raised substantial funds for the Hospice and the Programme of music was as follows:-
 

Saturday, 11^th December, 2010, Condover Church, Condover, Shrewsbury

This concert was one of Christmas music and some carols and raised funds for the Church. It included the Second "premier" in Britain of a new carol, composed and orchestrated by the brother of a member of the SLO, which was also premiered in New York the same day. The following music was played: -

Friday, 10^th December, 2010, Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury

This concert, the eigth featuring the SLO, was presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group to raise funds for that Club. It was a concert of Christmas music, with some carols, and two young people performed as well, Jess Abrams sang and ProtiK Moulik played piano. One piece, a carol, "Christmas Comes but Once a Year" was the premier performance in Britain and it was also premiered in New York, USA on the same evening.

A total of £540 was raised.

The Breathing Club was started in 1981 to provide help for people with chronic disabling respiratory disease, and their carers. It offers social support, education and companionship on a regular basis and it has been seen that the club improves the quality of life of its members both psychologically and physically. The club is self-funded and relies on the generosity of its members and the general public, without which it could not continue to give vital help and support to members.

Saturday, 17^th July, 2010, Oswestry Golf Club, Oswestry

This was the third visit by the Orchestra to the Golf Club and a "Last Night of the Proms" programme was requested. There were songs from Jessica Johnson (soprano) and she also led the audience participation singing.
The concert raised funds for the Golf Club and for the Captains' choice of Charities. The Bernard Lingen Trust (for the Ladies' Captain) and Cancer Research UK (for the Gentlemen's Captain). The doors were opened well before the concert for indoor picnics to be set up around tables. The programme of music was as follows: -

Saturday, 12^th June, 2010, All Saint's Church, Baschurch, Shrewsbury

This was a first visit to Baschurch by the orchestra and a "Last Night of the Proms" themed comcert was requested. The concert raised funds for the church and the programme of music was as follows: -

Saturday, 6^st March, 2010, The Theatre Severn, Frankwell, Shrewsbury

Presented by The West Shrewsbury Hospice Support Group this was the twenty fourth "Last Night of the Proms" concert that the Orchestra has played to raise funds for The Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury. The Orchestra was joined by singers Susan Gough (Soprano) and Andrew Murray (Baritone), pianist Patience Peplinski and by pipers Mike Shanahan and Graham Hislop. The concert raised substantial funds for the Hospice and the Programme of music was as follows:-
 

Friday, 18^th December, 2009, Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury

This concert, presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group, was of Christmas and other light music, with some carols, to raise funds for The Shrewbury Breathing Club. Two young people performed as well, Jessica Abrahams sang and Victoria Hammond played clarinet and saxophone. A total of over £500 was raised.

This was a concert of Christmas music, carols and other light music pieces to raise funds for the church. The programme of music was as follows :-

Saturday, 24^th October, 2009, The Lakeland School, Ellesmere.

This was a concert with "The Last Night of the Proms" theme and raised funds for the Ellesmere Community Care Centre, League of Friends. The programme of music was as follows: -

This was a concert with "The Last Night of the Proms" theme and raised funds for St. Peter's Church. The programme of music was as follows: -

Saturday, 11^th July, 2009, Oswestry Golf Club, Oswestry.

This was to have been a "Proms in the Park" event but because of inclement weather the concert was held in the new Club House, an excellent venue. The concert raised funds for the Golf Club Chairman's Charities, ie. The Air Ambulance and Macmillan Nurses. The programme of music was as follows:-

Saturday, 20^th June, 2009, Blodwell Hall. Oswestry.

This was a "Proms in the Park" event to raise funds for St. Michael's Church, Llan-y-blodwell, a Grade I Listed Building. Despite the threatening rain a large and appreciative audience supported the event in a delightful setting. The programme of music was as follows:-

Saturday, 13^th June, 2009, Mytton Cottage, Mytton, Montford Bridge, Nr. Shrewsbury

This was a "Proms in the Garden" event presented by The Fitz Village Hall Management Committee to raise funds for The Severn Hospice and Fitz Village Hall. A sunny evening brought a large audience to the "Garden" for a very enjoyable evening. The programme of music was as follows:-

This was the first event in a weekend of celebration of the church's 150th Anniversary. The programme of music was as follows:-

This concert of a wide variety of light music raised funds for the Village Hall. The following music was played to a very appreciative audience.

Friday, 19^th December, 2008, Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury

This concert, presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group, was of Christmas and other light music, with some carols, to raise funds for The Shrewbury Breathing Club. Soloists Ellie Jones, (harp) and Katie Teece (vocalist), also performed some pieces as part of the concert. Over £600 was raised for the Breathing Club funds.
